Three Minnesota-based medical startups were chosen among the 61 global companies selected for MedTech Innovator’s four-month accelerator program, which will get started at a summit in Mountain View, California Wednesday.
The accelerator provides the winners with $800,000 in non-dilutive funding, as well as access to industry manufacturers, providers, investors and stakeholders.
NXgenPort: NxgenPort has developed a remote monitoring system that measures real-time physiological distress in cancer patients. The company is based in Saint Paul and co-founded by CEO and co-inventor Cathy Skinner, an entrepreneur who has also started wellness companies Thrivors and The Art of Well.
The 61 companies chosen by MedTech will reconvene in October to showcase their products to investors and industry partners. Five startups will go on to compete for the Execution Award, while another five compete in the grand finals, where audiences will vote for a winner of a $350,000 and a $300,000 prize.
