The Technological Leadership Institute has announced that seven scaleup companies have been chosen for the first cohort of the new Scale-Up Minnesota program, including Saint Paul-based startup Radwave Technologies Inc.
ScaleUp Minnesota, created in partnership with LaunchMN and MNSBIR, is designed to educate and mentor the founders of fast-growing new tech companies. New tech entrepreneurs will learn how to thrive during the often-stormy post-startup period. Participants will gain the skills and the confidence to grow a company hundreds of times faster than is ‘normal’, according to director Mark Sanders.
“The scale-up phase is the most significant stage of growth for a young company. It can also be the most dangerous,” Sanders said. “Entrepreneurs often find themselves in a vulnerable state during this time, hitting obstacles that they didn’t anticipate. It is vital for scale-ups to have the right level of education and support – at the right time – to overcome these barriers during this critical business phase.”
The seven tech start-ups chosen for the program are GogyUp, Kavira Health, Adcura Inc., BKB Floral Foam Inc., Advisory Aerospace OSC, Sparrow Charts and Radwave Technologies Inc. All are based in Minnesota.
The 9-month program will include a series of strategic alignment sessions, in-person workshops and ongoing team mentoring opportunities. The sessions will be delivered in a hybrid format utilizing both virtual and in-person learning.
