The Bridgemakers Tech Entrepreneur Fellows have completed an intensive 6-month curriculum designed to prepare them for life-long learning, innovation, and contribution. They engaged in several extensive development activities, met members of the community, got exposed to the wider tech and startup ecosystem, and have all determined the basic foundations of their own leadership principles and businesses.
Empowering the Next Generation of Tech Entrepreneurs
The heart of our program lies in the dedicated and talented fellows who have shown incredible growth and commitment throughout their journey. Their accomplishments are a testament to the program’s effectiveness and the supportive ecosystem we’ve cultivated together.
Curriculum Completion
Our fellows have immersed themselves in a rigorous curriculum, developing both leadership and business development skills. Their journey included developing personal mission statements, honing time management skills, and engaging in strategic planning exercises to ensure their ventures are built on solid foundations.
- Innovative Problem-Solving: A significant focus of the program was identifying and addressing real-world problems. Fellows conducted extensive market research to pinpoint viable solutions, showcasing their ability to adapt and innovate within the dynamic tech landscape.
- Community Engagement and Networking: The fellows learned from industry experts and engaged with the broader tech community, gaining insights and building networks that will support their entrepreneurial ventures long after the program concludes.
Showcasing Success: The NASA Partnership
A highlight of our program was the partnership with Brown Venture Group, NASA, and the US Patent Office, which exemplified the cutting-edge opportunities provided to our fellows. This collaboration allowed a select group of fellows to work hands-on with NASA-patented particulate/aerosol sensing technology, guiding them through the entire licensing and commercialization process.
Real-World Application: This project was not just about technology; it was a deep dive into advanced business concepts, market viability analysis, and strategic planning, mirroring the real challenges tech entrepreneurs face in bringing innovations to market.
Community Impact and Validation: The technology’s potential impact was further validated through interviews with executives from Presbyterian Homes, emphasizing the real-world need and commercial viability of the solutions our fellows are working on. This not only bolstered the fellows’ confidence but also showcased the program’s role in addressing community and global challenges.
Looking Forward: The Path Ahead
Bridgemakers has moved towards conducting a case study and wider survey-based research push, to inquire into the core needs of young, diverse entrepreneurs, and recommend strategies for system leaders, government, and philanthropy to invest in and foster inclusive economic growth in our region.
