The Medical Alley Podcast, presented by MentorMate
Better Brain Insights with David Yonce, CEO, Cogwear
The innovative wearable technology developed by Cogwear allows for many insights on the human brain, including mental and behavioral health and Alzheimer’s disease. By allowing for clinical-grade EEG readings in everyday settings, Cogwear’s technology provides accurate measurements during a number of different activities
To learn more about Cogwear and the uses for its technology, we’re joined by CEO David Yonce on this week’s episode of the Medical Alley Podcast. David shares more about the healthcare benefits to Cogwear’s device, and also explains why the Philadelphia-based company recently opened a location in St. Paul to connect with the Medical Alley community.
“I actually was a resident in Minnesota for 17 years, I cut my chops in the med device industry with several companies in the area and I had a network of folks that I worked with up here. It just so happened that we started figuring out how we were going to build the product, how we were going to build out the business, I started working with some former colleagues and we have a very strong team and as we started looking at places to set up our hardware development and manufacturing facility, we started realizing we already have a good chunk of our staff in Minnesota. Luckily the perfect space became available for us and it just made sense to expand here. If you think about the product we have, we have a medical electric product, it has everything in it from highest fidelity, to the highest bluetooth technology. There’s no place in the country that has that breadth of people that understand electrical hardware, med devices and understand the wireless on f the back end. It’s a natural fit with the talent in the area.” – David Yonce CEO Cogwear
